Guidelines to the Candidates

  1. It is mandatory to fill the online admission application form for admissions at NITK. The candidate will be sent login credentials at their registered email received from the respective coordination Institutes
    1. CCMT-2017 HQ (for M Tech programme)
    2. JoSAA/DASA/ICCR/MEA Coordinating Institute (for B Tech programme)
    3. NIMCET Coordinating Institute (for MCA programmes)
    4. Institute’s Admissions - M Tech (Research/Sponsored), PhD, MSc, MBA programmes
    All the relevant information should be filled and the required certificates/documents should be uploaded at this portal.
  2. Please keep ready the image/pdf version of the following certificates/documents and relevant data before you start to fill the application form (All the files together should be less than 10MB).
    1. For B Tech Admissions :
      1. Provisional Admission letter (JoSAA /CSAB) or (DASA)
      2. Score card and Admit card of JEE (Main) / SAT Score Card
      3. Income certificate (If applicable)
      4. Proof of place of examination center (For students of National Open school)
      5. Passport copy (If qualifying exam is outside India)
      6. Nomination letter given by Govt. of India (If applicable)
      7. Copy of student Visa (If applicable)
    2. For M Tech Programmes
      1. Provisional Allotment letter (CCMT-2017)
      2. Provisional Confirmation Letter
      3. GATE Score Card (2015/2016/2017)
      4. Fee Payment Receipts (Institute’s Fee, Hostel’s Fee)
    3. M Tech (Research / Sponsored/L&T Sponsored), Ph.D. programmes
      1. Provisional Admission letter
      2. UGC-NET / Valid GATE Score Card (2015/2016/2017), if applicable
      3. Fee Payment Receipts (Institute’s Fee, Hostel’s Fee)
      4. NOC for sponsored candidates
    4. Soft copy of passport size photograph
    5. Birth certificate (X Marks Card)
    6. Marks card of the qualifying examination
    7. Transfer Certificate issued from the last school/college/University attended
    8. Study & Character certificate from the last school/college/University attended
    9. Migration certificate
    10. Caste certificate in respect of SC/ST students
    11. OBC-NCL certificate, if the seat is allotted under OBC-NCL category
    12. Medical Fitness Certificate
    13. Persons with Disabilities (PwD) Certificate (if applicable)
    14. Domicile Certificate
  3. The candidates must pay the required fee (as per their category) at the online payment portal link provided at the end of the application form. At the time of admission, the candidate has to pay the full fee as mentioned. The refund of excess fees collected from the candidates, who have eligibility to obtain the refund based on the annual income and other categories, will be made after successful verification of the certificates/relevant documents during the physical admission.
  4. After the successful fee payment and upload of the image/pdf files of all the required documents/certificates, the candidate will be able to submit the application at the online portal.
  5. On successful online submission of the application, a pdf version of the application will be generated. The printed (pdf file) application alongwith the photocopy of all the uploaded certificates/documents should be submitted during the physical admission at NITK. The candidates are advised to preserve a copy of the submitted application form for their reference. The candidates must physically report to NITK for admission as per the schedule with all the original certificates and undertaking documents. The original certificates and documents should be made available for the verification during admission.
  6. If the candidate fails to obtain and upload Transfer Certificate, Study & Character certificate and Migration certificate, an undertaking form will be generated during the submission of online application and should be submitted at the time of admission.
  7. If the candidate is allotted a seat under SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PWD category, they must submit the relevant original certificates at the time of admission and failing to do so will lead to the rejection of their admission at NITK. Further the OBC-NCL students must submit an undertaking in this regard.
  8. The candidate’s admission will be confirmed only on physical reporting to the institute as per the prescribed schedule.

How to Reach NITK

NITK lies on the coastal belt of Karnataka, on the National Highway 66, at about 22 kms from Mangalore towards Udupi. It lies close to Mangalore International Airport, and Railway Stations - Mangalore Central, Mangalore Junction and Surathkal. Bus Routes from Mumbai, Goa and Bangalore (that terminate at Udupi - Manipal) pass through the College and visitors can disembark right away. All Express buses to Udupi, Manipal or Karkala from Mangalore drop you at the College NITK Express Bus Stop. All parents / guardians with wards can apply in advance for accommodation at the International Hostel (IH) and the College Guest House, NITK (Limited accommodation). Beside these, Surathkal and Mangalore are dotted with a flurry of lodges, food Joints and Shopping Complexes.
